San Marcos, is a form of cooperative enterprise, founded in 1980 to provide an outlet for the production of olive farmers who are members of it, both to market their product throughout the national territory, as in much of the rest of the world .

While the Society was founded in 1980, it was not until 1984 when it was introduced in the olive sector in order to get a top quality product to meet the most demanding markets like USA, Canada, Russia or Brazil.
